Job Description

The Spa Manager is responsible for managing all operational activities for the Estuary Spa. They must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to staff. The Spa Manager will achieve the desired outcomes through the creation, development and maintenance of a competent, motivated and empowered staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Payroll and contractor pay & commissions. Monitor and manage reservations technology/system to ensure guest satisfaction and to maximize the usage of treatment rooms. Maintains a fully staffed department by recruiting, interviewing and hiring. Create a positive work environment of mutual respect and understanding with clear expectations and goals for all team member resulting in low turnover. Maintains a monthly inventory, with PAR levels of linens, supplies, equipment and products. Evaluate and train/re-train associates as necessary to ensure all standards are met. Maintains a high level of professionalism when communicating with internal and external customers. Ensures that all guest disputes are handled in a timely and courteous manner. Ensures that the Spa is maintained to Leading Hotels of the World and the resort standards through regular inspections and effective communication with the Housekeeping and Engineering departments. Ensure that the staff are kept up to speed with all resort and department policies, processes and initiatives through effective communication. Financials
  • Efficiently and accurately produces financial reports as needed by the resort and the corporate office, including forecasting, budgets, P&L analysis. Support services
  • Assist Spa team where needed based on business demands
  • registration, side work Provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback. Follows up with guest requests and comments. Ensures fiscal responsibility through efficient scheduling of staff. Supervise registration/check-in
  • Monitor staff to ensure that all standards and processes are being followed.
Train and develop the Rooms Front Desk and Reservations departments on the Spa offerings and systems, including how to check-in guests to the spa. In combination with F&B, participate in the community outreach TEAM to promote the resort. Ensures that the spa is successfully positioned within the respective marketplace by completing a competitive analysis and determining strengths and weaknesses of all significant competitors. Generates ideas and initiatives and works closely with the Marketing Department to drive revenue. Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop new promotional materials for the Spa. Ensures that the Estuary Spa integrates well into the overall operations of the resort. Develop and maintain long term CAPEX plan to keep the Spa current and up to date with FF&E and OS&E.   • preparation for groups. Ensure compliance with all state or federal regulations for the Estuary Spa including OSHA and SCLLR. Provide a safe work environment and ensure that all necessary procedures are followed should an accident occur. Oversee the Cabana rental program of the resort. Product development
  • stays in tune with industry trends and new products to identify ways to improve the product, maximize revenues and operate efficiently.
Annual Staff reviews. Coordinate monthly shop visits. Attend the different Resort meetings. Coordinate with BC FD for days off and arrival/ departure protocol. Spearhead any initiatives to drive business to Spa/Resort. Other duties as assigned. Participate in the Resort Manager on Duty program. Participate in Resort events and activities.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of professional spa services, treatments and retail products. Knowledge of retail operations and inventory systems. Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic. Excellent customer service skills. Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. Creative in marketing and promotions. Sales oriented. Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational. Professional manner, discretion, and appearance. Excellent verbal and written skills.
Normal work hours:
Varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Proficient in spa software and Microsoft Office products. CPR/First Aid Certified.
Qualifications:
2-3 years experience in Spa/Health Wellness industry. Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business, Sales, or similar field.
