Experienced Seamstress / Alterations Specialist Almaden Alterations in San Jose is seeking an experienced, dependable seamstress or alterations specialist who can work independently and help cover the shop when the owner needs time away. We welcome candidates interested in part-time or full-time work and offer a flexible schedule. What you'll do Perform high-quality clothing alterations and repairs, including hemming, zipper repairs, adjustments, dresses, suits, and everyday garments. Take accurate measurements, conduct fittings, and recommend alterations that give customers a great fit. Communicate professionally with customers; manage customer intake, payments, pickups, and order organization. Keep work moving smoothly, prioritize orders, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Work independently with sound judgment while maintaining careful craftsmanship and customer service. What we're looking for 3+ years of professional experience in alterations, tailoring, or garment repair. Strong garment-construction knowledge and confident machine and hand-sewing skills. Comfortable performing customer fittings and handling a range of common alterations independently. Reliable, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage a busy order queue. Vietnamese language skills are preferred to support clear day-to-day communication with the owner and Vietnamese-speaking customers.
