You'll handle the hands-on work our clients count on — from everyday hems and fittings to specialty pieces like bridal gowns, drapery, and leather. If you take pride in precise, high-quality work and want your pay to reflect how much you produce, we'd like to meet you. Pay — Commission Only, No Ceiling This position is paid entirely on commission — your earnings are tied directly to the work you complete. There is no cap. Our tailors typically earn $1,200-$2,200 per week. Actual earnings depend on your speed, skill, and the hours you choose to work. Schedule Flexible. Most of our tailors work 3 to 6 days per week, with shifts between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. We build the schedule around your availability.
What You'll Do Alterations:
hem pants, skirts and dresses; take in and let out seams; shorten sleeves; adjust waistbands; replace zippers; repair damaged garments Specialty sewing: bridal gowns and formalwear, suits, curtains and drapery, pillows and home décor, leatherwork, crochet and knitwear repair Customer fittings: pin and measure on the client, explain what can and can't be done Press and inspect every completed order before it goes back on the rack Work from order tickets to hit turnaround deadlines and keep your station organized What We're Looking For 4+ years of professional sewing or alterations experience Comfortable on an industrial sewing machine, serger/overlock, and blind hem machine, plus quality hand-stitching Able to read and follow order tickets and measurements accurately Strong eye for detail and a commitment to getting it right the first time Comfortable measuring and pinning directly on clients Dependable, punctual, and organized Specialty experience (bridal, formalwear, home goods, leather) is a strong plus Why Work Here Steady, year-round volume from an established, loyal client base No cap on earnings — the more you produce, the more you make Flexible days built around your availability Generous employee discount on all alteration services A friendly, supportive team Physical Requirements The following are essential functions of this role, which can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation: extended periods of seated detail work (up to 8 hours per shift), close vision and hand dexterity for fine stitching, handling heavier materials such as leather and full-length drapery, and standing, kneeling, and bending during fittings.
