Our current alterations specialist is leaving after 14 years, so there is an opportunity to take over an established alterations and repairs for our customers. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Compensation This is a part time commission based position. The alterations specialist receives 50% of alteration revenue on completed customer orders. Materials and supplies are handled separately. Hourly compensation will comply with applicable wage requirements. Experience with shoe repair, leather repair or footwear alterations is a plus and may provide an opportunity for additional work. Responsibilities Perform clothing alterations and basic repairs. Hem pants, dresses, skirts and sleeves. Take in or let out garments. Replace zippers. Repair seams, buttons and other garment issues. Accurately measure garments and determine the appropriate alteration. Consult with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on pricing and completion times. Manage garment fitting sessions for optimal fit and comfort. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area. Work independently and complete orders accurately and on time. Requirements Previous experience in clothing alterations, garment sewing, or tailoring required. Strong sewing and garment alterations skills. Proficiency with sewing machines, and hand sewing tools. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments accurately. Reliable and dependable with good customer service skills A great opportunity for an experienced seamstress who wants a small, flexible, part time position with an established clientele.

Pay:

$29.04 - $30.78 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 12.0 per week
