In need of Tailors/ seamstress in the Burr Ridge area. 1st shift: 5:30am-2pm

Your Role:

A tailor is responsible for ensuring the proper fit, marking, altering, repair, and pressing of garments. Tailors are responsible for maintaining high standards and workmanship.

Tasks And Responsibilities:

Ability to repair garments using hand sewing techniques (including beading) Proficient and comfortable using an industrial sewing machine for alterations Ensuring the proper fit of garments Marking garments for tailoring Pressing garments Ensure that all equipment such as sewing machines, pressers, and steamers are well-maintained and kept in working order Help solve problems and make informed suggestions Arrive to work at designated time and work full designated shifts Skills And Competencies Ability to provide high-quality workmanship in alterations, repairs and pressing of merchandise Ability to accurately mark and pin garments for alteration Ability to understand all fit issues and make appropriate recommendations regarding fit and alteration of merchandise Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner, and listen attentively to others, understand material, and provide needed information Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment Requirements Previous experience as a tailor, seamstress, or fitter Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job, including, but not limited to, sewing machines, pressing and ironing equipment, etc. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle heavy garments and garment bags throughout the store, which entails listing Willingness to adhere to all company policies, procedures, regulations, and standards
