Part-time About the Position Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Seamstress / Alterations Specialist to provide professional clothing alterations for our customers and luxury high-rise building residents. This position is an important part of the customer experience. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, provides friendly and professional service, and understands the importance of delivering high-quality work on time. Responsibilities Perform professional clothing alterations and repairs, including hemming, tapering, taking in or letting out garments, replacing zippers, buttons, and other basic repairs. Accurately measure customers and determine appropriate alterations. Complete alterations within established deadlines. Properly label, organize, and track customer garments and alteration orders. Communicate with customers regarding alterations, pricing, timelines, and any concerns with their garments. Work closely with the dry-cleaning attendant to ensure garments are properly received, processed, and returned to customers. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional alterations workspace. Handle customer concerns professionally and use good judgment to resolve issues and maintain customer satisfaction. Greet and interact with building residents in a friendly and professional manner. Build positive relationships with tenants and provide personalized service. Maintain sewing equipment and notify management of any equipment or supply needs. Follow all company procedures for garment care, customer service, and order handling. Qualifications Previous professional experience as a seamstress, tailor, or alterations specialist is required. Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, sewing techniques, and alterations. Ability to perform a variety of clothing alterations independently. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be comfortable interacting with customers and building residents on a daily basis. Ability to work independently while also working as part of a small team. Professional, friendly, dependable, and personable. Ability to use good judgment when addressing customer concerns or garment issues.
