Duties Perform clothing alterations and repairs to ensure perfect fit and finish for each customer Construct garments from fabric materials using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines Operate pressing machines to achieve crisp seams and professional finishes on finished products Assist customers with fitting adjustments and provide expert advice on garment care and fabric selection Create custom apparel pieces, including men's wear tailoring and women's wear tailoring, tailored to individual specifications Manage garment construction projects from pattern cutting to final stitching, ensuring quality standards are met Maintain cleanliness and organization of sewing stations, pressing areas, and tools to promote efficiency and safety Skills Extensive experience in fashion retail environments with a focus on clothing alterations and garment sewing Proficiency in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and press operation techniques Skilled in hand sewing for delicate or detailed work requiring precision Knowledge of fabric materials to select appropriate techniques and tools for different textiles Strong understanding of garment construction principles across various clothing types including men's wear and women's wear tailoring Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, pattern adjustments, and fabric estimations Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about alterations and garment care Embark on a rewarding journey where your sewing skills make a difference!
