The Rene Ruiz Collection is available at company stores located in Manhasset, New York, Livingston New Jersey, as well as 4 retail locations in Florida- Boca Raton, Hallandale, Coral Gables, and Naples. The collection is also available at exclusive department stores worldwide such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, select specialty stores, and our website.
POSITION SUMMARY
Our master samplemaker/seamstress collaborate and assist couture clothing stylists to ensure all garments properly fit every client at time of fittings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must possess over 5 years of experience in alterations (experience with women evening wear or bridal preferred) Must have experience performing alterations with finer materials such as silks, organzas, brocades, laces, beaded tulle, etc. This position is not an apprentice program. Alterations include but not limited to take in/let out gowns & bustiers, lower or build up necklines, add or remove sleeves, shorten complex hems, know various hand finish techniques including embroidery and appliqués, and resolving any other garment issues that may transpire Pin or chalk garments to show where alterations need to be made Ensure all garments are ready for the client to pick up including steaming and pressing Effectively manage workload and complete all required items in a timely manner Maintain relevant knowledge of the industry, products, and the business through continuing education and training A quick learner with the proper technical understanding of all industrial equipment in the shop (sewing machines, presser, serger, etc) A problem solver and team player You embrace a flexible working schedule based on the needs of the business and present workload You carry yourself in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance
QUALIFICATIONS
5 years experience as a seamstress/samplemaker in luxury clothing, evening wear, or bridal Must be able to speak and write basic English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, reach forward, and exercise repetitive foot and wrist motion and finger dexterity. The employee must frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds, occasionally pushing and pulling up to 30 pounds
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Reports directly to the Retail Store Manager. Does not exercise supervision over any position.
COMPENSATION
Base hourly wage: $17 - $35 per hour (based on experience) Full-time, Part-time, Contract work
