EXPERIENCED SWIMWEAR SEWER / SEAMSTRESS
Independent Contractor Project-Based Small-Batch Production A growing independent swimwear brand is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swimwear Sewer / Seamstress to become part of a specialized development and small-batch production team. This is a project-based independent contractor position , paid by project or production batch. We currently produce small quantities at a time , with the opportunity for increased and more consistent work as the company continues to grow.
PROFESSIONAL SWIMWEAR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on professional experience constructing high-quality swimwear . Applicants should be confident and experienced working with: 4-way stretch swimwear fabrics Lycra, spandex and performance fabrics Swimwear lining Elastic application with proper and consistent tension Stretch seams and professional finishing Bikini tops and bottoms One-piece swimsuits Adjustable straps, ties, hardware and swimwear components Working accurately from established patterns, templates and approved samples Maintaining consistent construction and quality across small production batches
MEN'S SWIMWEAR / BOARD SHORT EXPERIENCE IS A MAJOR PLUS
Experience constructing men's swimwear is highly desirable, including: Men's swim trunks and performance board shorts 4-way stretch woven fabrics Waistband construction Front fly and lace/drawstring closures Zipper installation Zipper pockets Pocket construction Reinforcement and professional finishing Consistent production-quality construction
INDUSTRIAL SEWING EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
This position requires the contractor to have their own professional, production-ready industrial sewing equipment appropriate for swimwear construction.
Experience and access should include:
Industrial Serger / Overlock Machine Industrial Coverstitch Machine Industrial Straight-Stitch / Single-Needle Machine Industrial Double-Needle Machine Other specialty machines or attachments necessary for professional swimwear and stretch-garment construction Applicants should understand proper machine setup, needle selection, thread, stitch formation, differential feed and tension adjustments for different swimwear and performance fabrics.
CONTRACTOR-OWNED & MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT
As an independent contractor, you are responsible for providing and maintaining your own industrial sewing equipment.
Machines must be:
In good professional working condition Properly maintained and serviced Clean and production ready Set up appropriately for the fabrics being sewn Available when projects are accepted The swimwear brand will not be responsible for routine machine maintenance, servicing, repairs or providing the contractor's primary sewing equipment.
CLEAN, ORGANIZED & PROFESSIONAL WORKSPACE REQUIRED
Contractors must have a dedicated, clean and organized workspace suitable for professional garment production. The workspace must provide adequate room to safely organize and store project materials while they are in the contractor's possession, including: Fabrics and lining Elastics and trims Specialty components and hardware Zippers and closures Patterns and templates Approved samples Cut garment pieces Work-in-progress Completed production pieces Materials belonging to different styles, sizes and collections must remain organized, identifiable and protected from damage, contamination, loss or mix-ups. The workspace should be smoke-free, clean and appropriate for handling new apparel products and premium fabrics. We are looking for someone who treats their workspace and equipment as a professional production environment and takes pride in organization, cleanliness and craftsmanship.
PAID SKILLS & CONSTRUCTION TEST
Selected candidates will be required to complete a paid sewing/construction test before being assigned production batches. The necessary specifications, materials and/or sample components will be provided for the test. The purpose is to evaluate the contractor's ability to reproduce required construction standards accurately and consistently.
The test may evaluate:
Overall construction quality Stitch quality and consistency Elastic application and tension Stretch and recovery of finished seams Seam allowances Coverstitch and overlock quality Topstitching and double-needle work where applicable Strap, binding and hardware application Zipper, pocket and closure construction for men's styles where applicable Accuracy in following patterns, templates, samples and construction instructions Cleanliness of finished garments Attention to detail Ability to meet agreed deadlines Production batches will only be assigned after workmanship has been reviewed and approved. Completion of a paid test does not guarantee future projects or a specific volume of work. Contractors selected for ongoing projects will be expected to maintain the same approved quality standard across every piece within a production batch.

Work will initially be offered in small project-based batches , with the potential for increased quantities and more consistent work as the brand grows.
