About Us Tita's Tailors and Cleaners is a family-owned tailoring and dry cleaning business with shops in Johnston and Cranston. Our tailors come from many cultures, and our customers do too. We alter wedding gowns, suits, quinceañera dresses, saris, leather boots, and much more. Many customers come in nervous because they've never been to a tailor before, and we make sure they leave happy. If you take pride in your craft and like seeing customers light up at a fitting, you'll fit right in. The Role We're hiring a skilled tailor or seamstress to handle a steady flow of alterations for our loyal customers. The work ranges from quick hems to complex formal and cultural garments. We need someone who works fast, maintains high quality, and stays calm when the rack is full. What You'll Do Alter a wide range of garments: pants, suits, dresses, skirts, formal wear, bridal, and cultural clothing Pin, mark, and fit garments with customers, and recommend the best approach for fit and function Sew by hand and machine to a professional finish on many fabric types Complete every job on time without cutting corners Check garments before and after alterations Work with the front counter on instructions, priorities, and due dates Keep your station clean and organized, and log completed work and time per job What You Bring Proven experience as a tailor, seamstress, or alterations specialist Strong hand and machine sewing skills Speed and accuracy, with a sharp eye for detail Good time management when juggling many jobs at once A friendly, patient manner with customers Ability to stand, sit, and bend for long periods and handle garments all day Nice to Have Experience with bridal, formal wear, or cultural garments Pattern adjustment and garment construction knowledge Leather, fur, or specialty fabric experience Bilingual (Spanish) Schedule The shops are open Monday-Friday 8 AM-6 PM and Saturday 8 AM-3 PM. Schedules are flexible within those hours.
