Applicants must be able to perform a full range of alterations on men's, women's, and children's clothing . Strong experience with suits, wedding attire, and uniforms is required . Responsibilities Perform alterations on men's, women's, and children's garments Alter suits, sport coats, blazers, trousers, shirts, and formalwear Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride dresses, and other special-occasion attire Alter school, work, professional, and military-style uniforms Hem pants, jeans, skirts, dresses, sleeves, and children's clothing Take garments in or let them out Complete waist, seat, taper, shoulder, side-seam, and sleeve adjustments Replace zippers and complete garment repairs Follow measurements and alteration instructions accurately Complete work neatly and by the promised deadline Maintain a clean and organized workspace Qualifications Professional tailoring or alterations experience required Must be skilled in suit, wedding, uniform, men's, women's, and children's alterations Must be able to complete alterations independently from start to finish Strong knowledge of garment construction and proper fit Excellent attention to detail Dependable and able to meet deadlines Experience using industrial sewing machines preferred Compensation This position is paid per completed alteration, not hourly .
