Responsibilities Perform clothing alterations and repairs on a variety of garments, including men's and women's wear, ensuring precise fit and finish. Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, pressing machines, and press operation tools to modify garments according to customer specifications. Assess fabric materials and garment construction to determine the best alteration approach while maintaining garment integrity. Communicate effectively with customers to understand their tailoring needs and provide professional advice on garment adjustments. Operate pressing machines to ensure garments are pressed to professional standards after alterations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tailoring workspace, including sewing stations and pressing areas. Collaborate with team members to uphold quality standards and improve alteration processes for efficient service delivery. Skills Proven experience in clothing alterations within a fashion retail setting or similar environment. Strong knowledge of garment sewing, stitching techniques, and fabric materials. Skilled in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing tools with precision. Familiarity with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production. Ability to interpret garment patterns and construction details for accurate alterations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Basic math skills for measuring and calculating adjustments accurately.
