Duties Perform clothing alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments with precision. Sew garments using various sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to achieve flawless finishes. Operate pressing machines and press garments to ensure crisp, professional results. Maintain high standards of garment construction, stitching, and fabric handling to deliver durable, well-crafted pieces. Manage multiple alteration projects efficiently while adhering to quality standards and deadlines. Ensure proper use of sewing tools and equipment, including sewing machines and hand sewing supplies, maintaining a safe workspace. Experience Proven experience in clothing alterations, garment sewing, or fashion retail environments. Skilled in using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing equipment for various fabric types. Knowledge of fabric materials and garment construction principles for both men's wear tailoring and women's wear tailoring. Strong understanding of stitching techniques, seam finishing, and garment fitting adjustments. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and pattern adjustments accurately.
