We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Alterations Customer Service Associate / Fitting Specialist to join our team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. This position works directly with customers to assist with alterations, fittings, measurements, garment intake, and order management. You do not need to be an experienced tailor, but basic sewing knowledge or an interest in learning alterations is strongly preferred. We provide hands-on training, including cross-training in sewing and alterations. What You'll Do Greet customers and assist them with alteration and tailoring requests Take basic garment measurements and assist customers during fittings Tag, document, and properly log garments received for alterations Clearly record alteration instructions for the sewing/tailoring team Track customer orders and help ensure work is completed by the promised date Contact customers when orders are completed and ready for pickup Answer customer questions in person and over the phone Handle customer pickups and verify completed work Maintain an organized work area and accurate order records Assist with general shop duties as needed Learn basic sewing and alteration techniques through cross-training What We're Looking For Friendly, professional, and comfortable working with customers Dependable and punctual Strong attention to detail Able to stay organized while managing multiple customer orders Comfortable taking basic clothing measurements and learning fitting procedures Basic sewing knowledge is preferred Previous retail, alterations, clothing, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required Willingness to learn sewing and garment alterations Ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers Ability to meet JBLM installation access requirements Training & Schedule This position includes a structured 6-month training period to learn our alteration intake process, measurements, fittings, customer service procedures, order management, and basic sewing/alteration skills. During the training period, scheduling may vary based on training needs. After successful completion of training, the employee will be assigned a regular work schedule. Why Join Our Team? Starting Pay:
