J ob Summary Precision Industrial is a full service fabrication shop in Irwindale, CA, building custom conveyors, frames, guards, and sanitary processing equipment for major food, beverage and pharmaceutical brands. We are looking for a shop helper/apprentice who is handy with tools and machines and wants to build a career in welding and fabrication. No welding experience is required. We will train the right person and this role leads directly to a welder/fabricator position if your skills grow. Responsibilities Help laser operator load sheets and unload parts, along with keeping machine area clean Grind, deburr and prep parts for welding and assembly Assist fabricators with fit-up, holding parts, material handling, and assebly Recieve, organize and stage material and hardware for upcoming jobs Cut material to size using saws and other shop equipment Help clean, prep, and load finished equipment for shipping Assist on field installs at customer plants as needed Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe Learn MIG and TIG welding, including sanitary stainless, under the guidance of senior fabricators Follow all shop safety procedures and take part in safety training Requirements Hands on experience with power tools, especially angle grinders Experience operating machinery (shop, manufacturing, construction, automotive or similar) Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn Reliable Preferred Welding experience Shop fabrication Experience with machinery Forklift experience

Pay:

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
