Job Description
1st Shift Pad Prep STARK is seeking an experienced P ad Prep for our Calhoun, GA location. This role is responsible for Tackout (Block) Carpet to square by knee kicking carpet and using a nail gun.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM Job Type:
Full-Time Hiring/Retention Bonus up to $1,000 within the first year!- bonus details provided during interview
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Measure and cut padding materials (foam, batting, or fabric) using hand tools, cutting machines, or templates.- Follow work orders, patterns, or cut sheets to ensure proper dimensions and quantity.
- Inspect materials for defects prior to and after cutting to maintain quality standards.
- Label and organize cut pieces for production use or inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized cutting area, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Track and report material usage and waste.
- Assist in maintaining cutting equipment and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with production team to ensure workflow is consistent and deadlines are met.
- Cross-train in other production areas as needed. Ability to work in warehouse environment in heat in excess of 95 degrees during the summer and lower temps during winter. Job Requirements (Education, Years of Experience, etc.)
- Basic math and measurement skills, including the use of measuring tapes and rulers.
- Ability to read and understand cut sheets, patterns, or job instructions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move materials for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
