Responsibilities Reupholster vehicle seats, door panels, dashboards, and other interior components using advanced upholstery techniques. Interpret blueprint specifications and technical drawings to accurately execute custom designs and repairs. Cut fabric materials manually with precision tools, ensuring proper fit and finish for each component. Repair and maintain upholstery fabrics, leather, and other materials to extend their lifespan and appearance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and sewing techniques to assemble and install interior parts. Perform woodworking tasks as needed for custom trim or structural repairs within vehicle interiors. Handle heavy lifting safely during the removal, installation, or transportation of large or bulky components. Apply knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and auto restoration techniques to deliver high-quality craftsmanship. Interpret technical specifications to ensure accurate assembly and adherence to design standards. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during manual handling and tool operation. Requirements Proven experience as an automobile upholsterer, craftsman, or technician with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Extensive knowledge of upholstery techniques including reupholstering, fabric cutting, sewing, and repairing fabrics or leather materials. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and woodworking equipment. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specification documents accurately. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship in every aspect of work. Physical stamina for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or bending. Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes and auto restoration practices is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a creative approach to custom interior solutions. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand client requirements.
