Company Overview Taylor Upholstering Co. is a full-service upholstery shop serving Savannah and surrounding areas. We specialize in furniture, antiques, commercial pieces, marine, and auto upholstery, making us the busiest shop in the region dedicated to craftsmanship and quality. Overview We are seeking a motivated Furniture Delivery and Upholstery Trainee to join our dynamic team. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in furniture handling, upholstery techniques, and manufacturing processes. If you're eager to learn and develop skills in a lively environment, this is the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career in upholstery and furniture delivery. Must have a valid driver's license, be able to operate a full size cargo van and be at least 25 years old. Duties Assist with the safe handling and delivery of furniture items, ensuring proper manual lifting techniques and heavy lifting safety protocols Support upholsterers in fabric cutting, sewing, sewing machine operation, and reupholstering projects using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and sewing machines Aid in repairing upholstery materials such as leather and fabric, maintaining attention to detail for quality finishes Participate in woodworking tasks related to furniture manufacturing or restoration projects Help with manual handling of materials, including fabric materials and wood components, adhering to safety standards Support the team in interpreting technical instructions for upholstery assembly or auto restoration projects Experience No prior experience is required; however, candidates should demonstrate a keen attention to detail and enthusiasm for learning new skills. Ideal applicants will possess basic knowledge of hand tools and an interest in woodworking or upholstery techniques. Strong manual dexterity, physical stamina for manual handling and heavy lifting, and the ability to interpret technical drawings are highly valued. Previous exposure to manufacturing or auto restoration environments is a plus but not mandatory. Training will be provided on all equipment and processes necessary for success in this role.
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 35.0 per week People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
