Automotive Upholstery Technician Shelby Performance is seeking an Automotive Upholstery Technician to join our production team. This position will focus on the installation, fitment, and finishing of premium leather seat covers and interior components on Shelby performance trucks. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, works well with their hands, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished work. Automotive upholstery experience is preferred, but we are also willing to consider candidates with strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Remove and reinstall seats and interior components as required Remove factory seat covers and upholstery Install custom leather seat covers on truck seats Properly stretch, fit, secure, and finish leather upholstery Disassemble and reassemble seat components without damaging trim, wiring, airbags, or other components Inspect leather and upholstery for defects before and after installation Ensure proper fit, alignment, appearance, and overall workmanship Use hand tools, power tools, hog ring pliers, upholstery tools, and other equipment safely Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow established production and quality-control procedures Work with team leads and quality personnel to correct any fitment or workmanship concerns Complete work within established production timelines while maintaining Shelby Performance quality standards Qualifications Automotive upholstery, leather installation, trim, or interior experience preferred Experience installing replacement leather seat covers is a plus Automotive or general mechanical experience is beneficial Strong attention to detail and quality Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to use common hand and power tools Ability to follow standardized work instructions and procedures Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and as part of a production team Willingness to learn Shelby Performance's upholstery and quality standards Physical Requirements This position requires regular standing, bending, reaching, pulling, gripping, and working around vehicle interiors. Employees must be able to safely lift and maneuver automotive seats and related components with assistance when necessary. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship. Our trucks are premium performance vehicles, and the quality of the interior needs to reflect that. We are looking for someone who notices wrinkles, uneven seams, poor fitment, loose material, or other imperfections and takes the time to make the finished product right. Previous upholstery experience is valuable, but quality, reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are equally important.
