Requirements
Essential Job Functions
- Perform advanced surface preparation and finishing processes on complex components requiring high-end cosmetic finishes.
- Apply and blend specialty finishes including high-gloss, multi-layer coatings, custom stains, and decorative finishes to exacting standards.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, material specifications, and finishing requirements to ensure full compliance.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct defects or cosmetic discrepancies to meet customer expectations.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with
RSQM, FAA
regulations, and company quality standards.
- Lead by example in maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to lower-level technicians.
- Support process improvements related to finishing quality, efficiency, and material usage.
- Coordinate with leadership on workflow, risk areas, and schedule impacts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience - High School Diploma or GED required. Trade school preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in finish application, preferably in aviation or high-end custom manufacturing.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced finishing techniques and cosmetic standards.
Required Skills and Abilities - Expert-level knowledge of finishing techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality, defect-free finishes on complex components.
- Strong understanding of
FAA/RSQM
requirements and compliance standards.
- Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior technicians.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship excellence.
