Aircraft Upholstery Technician - Long-Term Contract We are seeking experienced Upholstery Technicians for long-term contract opportunities performing high-end aircraft interior upholstery work. Aircraft experience is preferred, but NOT required. If you have extensive professional upholstery experience in custom automotive interiors, yachts/marine interiors, luxury RVs/coaches, or other high-end custom upholstery , we want to speak with you. Many of these skills transfer directly into aircraft interior work. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced craftsman looking to bring their upholstery skills into the aerospace industry. What You'll Do Fabricate, recover, repair, and finish upholstered aircraft interior components Work with leather, vinyl, fabric, foam, carpet, and other premium interior materials Measure, pattern, mark, cut, and fit upholstery materials Operate industrial sewing machines Perform straight stitching, curves, top stitching, piping/welting, and detailed finish work Shape, trim, and fit foam for seats and interior components Stretch, fit, glue, staple, sew, and secure upholstery materials Upholster seats, cushions, panels, armrests, and other custom interior components Create and modify patterns and templates Ensure finished components meet high cosmetic standards for fit, stitching, alignment, symmetry, and overall appearance Read and follow drawings, specifications, work instructions, and measurements Perform detailed rework and hand-finishing when needed What We're Looking For 3+ years of professional upholstery experience preferred Strong experience in at least one of the following: Aircraft upholstery/interiors Custom or luxury automotive upholstery Yacht or marine upholstery Luxury RV or custom coach interiors Other high-end custom upholstery Strong industrial sewing skills Experience working with leather and premium upholstery materials Ability to measure, pattern, cut, sew, fit, and finish custom upholstery Experience shaping and fitting foam Strong attention to detail and cosmetic quality Comfortable producing custom or low-volume work where craftsmanship and appearance are critical Don't Have Aircraft Experience? That's okay. We are specifically interested in experienced upholsterers from custom automotive, yacht/marine, luxury RV/coach, and similar custom interior environments. If you can take an upholstery project from pattern and material selection through cutting, sewing, fitting, and final finish, your experience may translate very well into this position.
Pay:
$32.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
