Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Job Description:
Works with a team of product specialists that assist in the construction, testing and evaluation of new models. Supports the design team with the prototyping of seating, cushions, and canvas. Provides assistance with the development of new designs, product specifications and bill of materials. Works with vendors on the implementation of new parts and accessories. Reviews and troubleshoots existing products and makes upgrades and improvements as it relates to upholstery and canvas. Provides training, technical assistance and troubleshooting support to production personnel as needed. This is a hands-on job with physical requirements including climbing ladders, working in tight spaces and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Skills:
The candidate should have a strong technical aptitude, with a fundamental knowledge of marine seating, upholstery and canvas fabrication, and experience with hand and power tools. Good verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) are necessary. Skills that are beneficial but not required include experience working with fiberglass, boat operation, and proficiency in CAD software (Autocad 2D and Solidworks). This position starts at $19.56 per hour.
