SHIFT:
Mon - Fri, TBD. Training on Day Shift for 3 weeks BBSI is currently accepting applications for Walk-in Sand/Shotblaster for our manufacturing client in Milwaukie. The Walk-in Sand/Shotblaster cleans the surfaces of large castings using air-propelled sand or shot in a walk-in booth and prepares casting surfaces for further cleaning, chemical milling, inspection or gate removal. Walk-in Shotblasters remove shell materials and Walk-in Sandblasters prepare casting surfaces for further inspection.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Objective:
to remove shell, scale, grinding marks and other material from castings.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Verifies lot, part identification and operation number. Loads castings into walk-in cabinet manually or with hoist. Masks tooling points as needed and sand or shot blasts parts in cabinet by directing hand-held nozzles Removes all sand or shot out of part cavities to assure clean parts for chemical milling Removes castings from walk-in cabinet and places on pallets. Performs minor equipment maintenance, including changing hoses and nozzles and checks equipment for leaks and clogs. Restock cabinet with sand or shot, order materials as needed.

Walk-in Shotblast Equipment Forklift Hoists Pallet jacks Slings, straps, chains Basic hand tools (hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, chisels, knives etc) Dental mirrors and picks Pipe benders and threaders Belt grinders
QUALIFICATIONS
Cleaning and blasting skills as demonstrated by the competent performance of all Sandblaster and Shotblaster duties are preferred OR An equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience. Ability to work independently. Ability to follow instructions and read Technique Cards or routers. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. (addition, subtraction) Physical ability to perform the essential job functions. Must be able to present a US Passport, US Birth Certificate, or valid Permanent Resident Card for ITAR compliance (International Traffic in Arms Regulation).
