Upholstery Seamstress / Textiles Design Mode Phoenix, AZ Job Details Seasonal | Contract $25 - $35 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Draping Clothing alterations Sewing Fabrication Teamwork Mid-level Attention to detail Pattern making (upholstery techniques) Full Job Description About the Role We are an event production and design company seeking a highly skilled soft goods fabricator / workroom seamstress to support custom builds for our inventory and events. This role is ideal for someone experienced in drapery, upholstery sewing, and custom fabrication , who is comfortable working on large-scale, non-garment projects. You'll be helping us create a flexible, modular system of custom furniture slipcovers, draping, and soft furnishings that can be used across a variety of events and design styles. Key Responsibilities Create custom slipcovers for sofas, sectionals, ottomans, and other furniture Fabricate custom drapery, panels, and event soft goods Measure, pattern, cut, and sew large-scale pieces Install closures such as zippers, Velcro, snaps, and other functional elements Work with a variety of fabrics including upholstery-weight, velvet, sheer, and specialty textiles Collaborate with our design team to execute creative concepts Assist with minor alterations and repairs to existing inventory Requirements Proven experience in upholstery sewing, slipcovers, or interior soft furnishings Ability to pattern and construct covers for complex shapes (sectionals, custom builds, etc.) Strong understanding of durability, fit, and fabric behavior Experience working with furniture and drapery Detail-oriented with high-quality craftsmanship Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Preferred (but not required) Background in event production, set design, or interior design workrooms Experience creating repeatable patterns for production use Ability to work on-site in a warehouse environment Schedule & Compensation Flexible, project-based schedule Competitive hourly or project-based pay, based on experience Why This Role is Unique This is not traditional seamstress work. You'll be helping build a custom, scalable soft goods system for a growing event design company. The work is creative, hands-on, and constantly evolving, with opportunities for ongoing collaboration.
