Job Description

Pay:
$13.50/hr with an increase to $13.75/hr after 30 days Job description: Job post summary This position supports the daily production of Dignity Apparel as a valued member of the parts team, which collectively hems sleeves, makes collars, hems bottoms using automated machinery, hems and attaches pockets, assists with quality checks, cleaning, boxing, and palletizing, and prepares all parts related components of a garment to run successfully and efficiently through the sewing line.
Job Responsibilities:
Based on the needs of the business, members of the parts team are assigned to at least one (or more) of the following functions: Facilitating the production of sleeve hems through operation or support of the automatic or manual sleeve hem equipment. This may also include cutting threads or laying out sleeves neatly into boxes to expedite the attaching of sleeves by sewers. Facilitating the production of collars through operation or support of the auto collar machine. This may also include cutting threads or laying out collars in a neat and orderly fashion to expedite work on the sewing line. Facilitating the production of garments with pockets through hemming and attaching pockets and then organizing these goods to be sent to a hem bottom operation. Removing boxes from the conveyor belt, completing associated quality assurance checks for the garments and their packaging, then sealing and stacking boxes as instructed to ensure stability when shipped to customers. Additionally, the team member who works the conveyor belt is required to assist sewing lines by cleaning garments identified by inspectors and quality control as passable with cleaning, and handling 2nd quality garments according to manager instructions. All members of the parts team will be called on to assist other team members on any of the duties listed above. Additionally, responsibilities for all parts team members may include picking apart triblend sleeve notches to prepare them to run efficiently through the sewing line, taking out repairs from garments, marking center on collars for sewers to correctly attach hang tags, and other duties as assigned by a Dignity Apparel Tennessee Manager.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old to work with industrial machines. Able to lift 10-30 lbs. regularly with reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time and handle physical workload. Attention to detail and accuracy in work. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic, including team and goal orientation. Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production and efficiency requirements. Self-motivated, positive attitude, willingness to learn. Some experience with sewing machines preferred
