Job Description
Job Overview Join our manufacturing team as a Shop Helper. In this entry level hands-on role, you will support with material handling, part handling, packaging, quality checks, and general shop duties. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in learning about the manufacturing industry and gaining hands-on experience in a shop environment. Responsibilities Learn and follow company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards through on-the-job training. Handle materials safely using forklifts, cranes, manual pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment to move raw materials and finished products within the shop. Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and organizing materials and finished parts. Perform basic quality checks using measuring tools. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Perform general shop housekeeping and janitorial duties, including sweeping floors, removing scrap and debris, cleaning around machines, and keeping work areas organized. Assist with packaging finished parts according to specifications and prepare items for shipment or assembly. Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist shop personnel with various tasks as needed. Perform other general shop duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a manufacturing environment. Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with a shop environment. Capability to manually lift a minimum of 35 lbs. Previous experience is helpful but not required. Basic familiarity with hand tools and measuring instruments is a plus. Forklift experience is a plus but not required; training can be provided. Willingness to learn and follow company procedures and safety requirements. Ability to understand and communicate effectively in fluent English, in order to understand safety instructions, work instructions, and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per weekBenefits:
