Pay:
$15.66 per hour We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Sewer for a manufacturing company in Martinsville, VA. This position is responsible for sewing fabric and upholstery materials according to production standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate industrial sewing machines to sew fabric, upholstery, or textile materials Follow work instructions, patterns, and production specifications accurately Inspect materials and finished pieces for quality, defects, and consistency Measure, align, cut, and sew materials as needed Maintain steady production pace while ensuring accuracy and workmanship Keep work area clean, organized, and safe Report machine issues, material concerns, or quality problems to a supervisor Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines Assist with other production or upholstery-related tasks as needed
Requirements:
Previous sewing, industrial sewing, upholstery, or textile experience preferred Ability to operate or learn industrial sewing machines Strong attention to detail and quality Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to read and follow instructions Reliable attendance and punctuality Willingness to work in a production/manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience sewing upholstery, cushions, furniture covers, or fabric products Ability to work with different fabrics and materials Basic measuring skills Experience in furniture, textile, or manufacturing production is a plus
Work Environment:
Production/manufacturing environment. Employees may work with sewing machines, fabric, upholstery materials, and other production equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
