Upholstery Technician

Job Description

DeForest, WI | 1st Shift | Monday - Friday From libraries to schools, our products help shape learning spaces across the country. We're looking for a detail-oriented Upholstery Technician to join our manufacturing team and help build high-quality soft seating products that inspire learning. No upholstery experience? No problem. We're looking for people with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. If you enjoy building, creating, crafting, woodworking, sewing, or working with your hands, we'll teach you the technical skills needed to succeed. In this role, you'll: Sew fabric panels and upholstery patterns using industrial sewing equipment Cut and prepare fabric utilizing templates while minimizing material waste Wrap foam cores and cushion components with precision and consistency Assemble upholstered frames and components according to work order specifications Complete final finishing steps including stapling, trimming, wrapping, and tacking Inspect products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality standards are met Identify and communicate quality concerns before products move to the next production stage Complete production documentation using both printed and digital work orders Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Perform basic equipment maintenance and follow all safety procedures Support other areas within the Value Center as production needs change Qualified candidates will have: High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Ability to perform precise handwork in tight spaces Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions Experience with fabric handling, sewing, or stitch techniques is helpful, but not required . We'll train motivated individuals who are eager to learn An interest in building, woodworking, crafting, sewing, DIY projects, or other hands-on creative work is encouraged, as these skills often translate well to upholstery Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Why Choose This Role with Demco?
