Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and client communication. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure a smooth clinic operation, promote animal welfare, and deliver a positive experience for pet owners. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and care to ensure safety for pets, clients, and staff Support veterinary technicians during surgeries, medication administration, IV insertions, and other medical procedures Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning and sanitation using proper PPE (personal protective equipment) Record keeping including updating patient records accurately and efficiently in veterinary software systems Help with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, and monitoring behavior to promote comfort and health Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, medication schedules, and follow-up appointments Support front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and managing client communication Qualifications Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience with dogs, cats, or equine animals is a plus Experience working in a veterinary clinic or similar healthcare environment highly desirable Knowledge of veterinary terminology, aseptic techniques, and record keeping practices necessary for effective support Ability to perform animal restraint safely and confidently; experience with animal catheterization is advantageous Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members Willingness to learn about pet care procedures such as surgery support, medication administration, and critical care techniques Ability to follow safety protocols including PPE use and maintaining a clean work environment This paid Veterinary Assistant position is perfect for passionate individuals eager to grow their career in animal healthcare.
