In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with medical procedures, ensuring the comfort of pets, and maintaining a clean and organized environment within the clinic. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for animal care and a desire to work in a fast-paced veterinary setting. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures. Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or technician. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms. Provide basic pet care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals. Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the veterinary staff. Prepare animals for surgery, including catheterization when necessary. Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries. Ensure that all aseptic techniques are followed during procedures. Other duties as assigned. Skills Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during medical procedures. Experience in kennel management, including cleaning and caring for boarding animals. Familiarity with front desk operations in a veterinary or similar setting. Strong understanding of pet care practices to provide optimal support to clients and their pets. Ability to administer medications accurately under supervision. Basic knowledge of animal physiology to assist in monitoring health conditions. Experience with animal catheterization is a plus, particularly for surgical preparations. Understanding of equine care is beneficial but not required.
