Job Description

Come to lovely Sheffield, AL which is nestled neatly in the Northwest corner of Alabama. We are located directly on the Tennessee River and the area offers unique access to great music, outdoor experiences and great small town flavor. We are within 2 hours of Huntsville, Nashville, and Birmingham so you can still get your fill of city life if needed! We are looking for an independent, focused veterinary technician/animal care attendant to work at our bustling 5 veterinarian general practice. License is not required but previous animal care experience will be valued. The position will be responsible for direct communication/history gathering from clients, collection of TPR, venipuncture, setting up laboratory tests, and medication administration. You will also likely have to work in the kennels some which does require bathing, feeding, medicating of animals and cleaning of the exercise yard. On the job training will be utilized to assist in any areas that the applicant may not be comfortable completing. We are open Monday thru Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Normal full time shift is 4 full days with one off day per week. There are shifts that will be required on the weekends to come and perform hospital and kennel duties, these shifts usually only last 1 hour and are every other or every third weekend.
