Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to animals in a veterinary clinic setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality medical care, ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients, and supporting pet owners throughout their visit. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during treatments. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian. Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in the clinic or kennel. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments and equipment. Assist with animal catheterization and other veterinary critical care tasks as needed. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and care instructions. Qualifications 2 years previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is required. Knowledge of animal practices and basic veterinary procedures. Skills in medication administration and understanding of veterinary critical care protocols. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and team members. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately, demonstrating proper animal restraint techniques. A commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment that prioritizes animal welfare. Must be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work.
