We are undergoing construction and plan to reopen in our new location in the middle of October. Currently, we are seeing appointments in temporary bungalows.
Minimum standards:
Must be able to work standing or sitting for 8 or more hours Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the day with help Must be able to see fine detail in a variety of situations Performing duties autonomously Pick up phone calls and speak to clients in a polite and professional manner Manage appointment scheduling Assist DVM with appointments: Participates in patient check-in Ensure complete and accurate records exist for all patients (vaccines, medical records) Obtain vitals (temperature, pulse, respiration) and patient history of all patients for doctors appointments Safely handling and restraining pets for exams and procedures using free fear techniques Recording medical records into Ezyvet software utilizing appropriate veterinary terminology Completing lab work as needed Filling all prescription medication and going over medication counseling Completing medical calculations as needed Creating an estimate for clients to review and approve Communicating normal lab work results with clients Must be able to understand and relay basic veterinary concepts such as vaccine protocols and anesthetic risks to owners Leave clear and concise call-back notes for the veterinarian Recall patients from previous day exams Assist for diagnostics and treatment: Performing nail trims, anal gland expressions, routine ear cleanings, hygiene clips Ability to handle and restrain exotics, and perform routine nail trims and beak trims Ability to administer vaccines and medication orally, SQ, IM, and IV Placement of IV catheters and blood draws Performing ultrasound-guided cystocentesis to obtain urine samples Cytology slide preparation (ear and skin) Performing radiology with an understanding of appropriate fields Proper disinfection, cleaning and upkeep of the hospital Understand protocols for infectious and contagious patients Regular maintenance of medical equipment (x-ray, microscope) Assist in surgery: Surgical instrument cleaning, surgical pack preparation and autoclaving Under the supervision of a veterinarian, inducing, intubating, surgical prep and monitoring anesthesia on patients during surgical procedures Taking full mouth dental radiographs and performing dental cleanings using an ultrasonic scaler, simple dental extractions Communicating discharge instructions with owners Logging controlled medications

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
