Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing quality care for animals, perform various medical procedures, and support the overall functioning of the veterinary practice. Prefer a Vet Tech Assistant who is currently enrolled in the RVT program, but will consider someone with vet hospital experience. Duties
  • Assist veterinarians and RVT(s) in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
  • Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Provide animal care including feeding, grooming, and monitoring behavior
  • Handle and restrain animals during procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
  • Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with team members and clients Skills
  • Proficiency in animal husbandry practices
  • Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology
  • Ability to handle animal restraint with care and compassion
  • Experience in utilizing aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness
  • Understanding of dental terminology for dental procedures
  • Competency in X-Ray procedures for diagnostic imaging
