We are looking for someone who already has hands-on veterinary experience, is confident working in a fast-paced hospital, and takes pride in providing excellent care to both patients and clients. What We're Looking For Previous veterinary hospital experience is required for this position. We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable with many of the day-to-day responsibilities of a Veterinary Assistant and can become a productive member of our team with appropriate training on our hospital's specific protocols.
Responsibilities may include:
Proper restraint and handling of dogs and cats Assisting veterinarians and technicians during appointments and treatments Preparing patients and supplies for procedures Assisting with surgical preparation and recovery Cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments Setting up and maintaining treatment and surgical areas Cleaning and maintaining kennels, equipment, and hospital workspaces Obtaining accurate patient weights and histories Helping with laboratory samples and in-house diagnostics Filling medications as directed Maintaining accurate and organized patient records Monitoring patients and recognizing when something needs immediate attention Supporting the overall flow of a busy treatment area Communicating professionally with doctors, technicians, CSRs, and clients Our Ideal Candidate We would love to find someone who is: Experienced in a veterinary hospital setting Dependable, punctual, and organized Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment Confident handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments Detail-oriented and able to follow hospital protocols Willing to ask questions when unsure Able to take direction and accept constructive feedback Proactive and willing to jump in where help is needed Professional and compassionate with clients and coworkers Focused on patient safety and quality care Interested in becoming a long-term part of our team
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
