Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and Technician, where your passion for animal care and veterinary medicine will make a real difference! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and pet owners by providing exceptional animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a smooth clinic operation. Whether working directly with animals or managing front desk duties, your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a positive experience for every pet and owner who walks through our doors. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing animal restraint. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments accurately following veterinary instructions. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for various species, including dogs, cats, and equines. Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and monitoring animal behavior for signs of distress or illness. Manage front desk responsibilities including scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and maintaining detailed medical records. Perform laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis to aid in diagnostics. Educate pet owners on pet care, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions to ensure optimal animal health. Experience Previous kennel experience or background in animal husbandry is highly valued. Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques is essential. Hands-on veterinary technician experience or veterinary critical care exposure will set you apart. Familiarity with laboratory procedures, medication protocols, and animal restraint techniques is advantageous. Strong animal handling skills across different species including dogs and horses are required. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and educate pet owners effectively.
