Job Description
Mission Oaks Veterinary Clinic is a thriving, privately-owned, small animal general practice in Camarillo, CA. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding patient and client care. While we run a busy, high-quality medicine practice, we actively maintain a low-stress environment and genuinely enjoy making each other laugh! We are currently looking for a skilled, compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or an experienced veterinary technician to join our incredible team. Core Responsibilities As an integral part of our nursing team, your responsibilities will include:
Anesthesia & Surgery:
Confidently induce (RVT), monitor, and maintain anesthesia; assist the veterinarian in medical, surgical, and advanced dental procedures; manage patient recovery and post-operative pain protocols.Dentistry:
Perform routine dental prophylaxis, assessment, and digital dental radiography in a safe and timely manner.Advanced Nursing & Diagnostics:
Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, accurately run/fulfill laboratory protocols, and perform advanced technical skills including ultrasound-guided cystocentesis and urinary catheterization.Client Education & Communication:
Deliver compassionate care to patients and clients; clearly explain common medical conditions, preventative care protocols, and the indications/side effects of prescribed medications.Pharmacy & Math:
Safely and accurately calculate common medical dosages and administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications.Hospital Workflow:
Position patients accurately for diagnostic radiographs, maintain rigorous surgical material/instrument care, and maintain thorough, accurate medical records. Qualifications & Requirements Valid California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license preferred. 1+ years of experience working as an RVT in a general practice setting preferred. Proficiency with AviMark practice management software is a major plus. Must be 18 years or older and have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
