Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians with a wide range of clinical procedures, provide compassionate pet care, and ensure the highest standards of animal handling and safety. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to a positive, efficient, and caring environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Duties Assist veterinarians with medical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and administering medications. Perform laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to support accurate diagnoses. Provide exceptional animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, polishing, and oral examinations. Handle animals confidently using proper restraint techniques for examinations or treatments while ensuring their comfort and safety. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and document procedures using veterinary terminology. Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs, assisting in emergency procedures, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed. Qualifications Prior kennel experience combined with animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equines. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices. Hands-on experience with laboratory work, X-ray operation, and veterinary critical care procedures. Proficiency in dog training techniques, pet grooming, and animal restraint methods. Familiarity with aseptic techniques necessary for surgical prep and infection control. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners about animal health needs. Certification or experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
