Chino Hills Animal Hospital & Pet Resort is a busy, fast-paced, 11-doctor veterinary practice that is open 7 days a week. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. Our hospital recently completed a full remodel, featuring upgraded equipment and technology, additional exam rooms, and a new Pet Resort. About the Position As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, patients, and clients. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, communicating effectively, and maintaining a high standard of patient care and client service. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), and weekend availability is required. Responsibilities Assist Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with patient care and daily hospital needs Properly restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other patients Obtain and record patient TPRs (temperature, pulse, and respiration) Administer vaccinations Clean and maintain kennels and patient areas Clean instruments and prepare surgical packs Assist with surgical preparation and patient care Restock supplies and maintain organized treatment areas Maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital, including sweeping and mopping Wash dishes and surgical laundry Assist with general hospital cleaning and maintenance Demonstrate a basic understanding of medications and veterinary terminology Perform basic computer and medical record tasks Communicate and work effectively with the entire veterinary team Provide compassionate, high-quality care to every patient This job description is not intended to cover every aspect of the position. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to work effectively as part of a team Dependable, professional, and compassionate Ability to remain calm and productive in a fast-paced environment Ability to work under pressure Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds Ability to stand and remain active for up to 10 hours All employees are required to successfully complete a drug screening prior to starting employment.
