Job Description

Description ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Veterinary Doctor's Assistant to join our growing surgery team! Our Doctor's Assistants help to establish the foundation for a trusting and empathetic visit. They collaborate with our doctors by handling administrative tasks, maintaining communication with clients and ensure a smooth daily flow.
Your responsibilities may include:
Work closely with Board Certified Specialists Serve the critical role of being the liaison between doctors, clients, and patients Attach necessary records, images, diagnostic results, and other relevant documents to the patient file Dispense medications as directed by the veterinarian Prepare cost estimates for diagnostics, outpatient treatments, procedures, and hospitalizations, at home care and review them with pet owners. Ensure that client consent forms and estimates are signed when required. Assist in delivering high-quality, compassionate care for both clients and patients Guide clients through the euthanasia process, including assisting with paperwork and aftercare procedures.
Our ideal candidates:
Have a desire to help people and their pets Proficient in using veterinary computer systems for data entry, including charges and patient information. Minimum 2 years veterinary experience in a client service role or similar role Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in a clear and audible voice A friendly and professional demeanor. Self-driven and motivated. Strong ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, critical care setting Critical thinking and problem-solving skills And most importantly … embody our core principles: Quality, Integrity, Compassion and Service Must be able to work 1 weekend day per week At ACCESS, we recognize the importance of those individuals taking such good care of our pets and their families by offering competitive pay starting at $21 - $26/hour (dependent upon experience). ACCESS Los Angeles also offers shift differentials ..
Shift hours worked between:
7pm-11pm = additional $2/hour 11pm-7am = additional $3/hour any shift on Saturdays and Sundays = additional $2/hour We invest heavily in our employees with many opportunities for growth and development!
