  Job Summary The veterinary assistant will assist in all aspects of clinic function including patient care, clinical tasks, hospital maintenance, record keeping and client communications.

Experience engaging with underserved and vulnerable populations.

Experience teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate and professional students, providing guidance, support, and educational engagement in academic or community settings.

Strong multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, coordinate logistics, prioritize responsibilities, and effectively balance competing demands during clinic events, meetings, and daily operations.

Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, enabling effective interaction in client-facing roles, collaboration with staff, and service as a liaison between clients, team members, and stakeholders.

Exceptional attention to detail in the preparation and execution of clinic-related tasks, ensuring accuracy, organization, and the smooth operation of programs, events, and services.

Adaptable, collaborative, and solution-oriented professional with the flexibility to adjust to changing schedules, needs, and fast-paced environments; works effectively as part of a team, follows direction, takes initiative when needed, and responds calmly and effectively to unexpected challenges. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Experience in customer service and client-facing roles, particularly in healthcare, veterinary, or community service settings, with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively support clients and stakeholders.

Experience working in diverse and underserved communities, with the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish strongly preferred to provide culturally responsive services and support Spanish-speaking clients.

Experience working in veterinary clinical environments, especially fast-paced settings such as emergency veterinary clinics, along with a basic understanding of clinic and event logistics, including setup, registration, coordination, and operational support.

Strong collaboration, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills, with experience working effectively as part of a team, following supervisory guidance, adapting to fast-paced environments, and contributing to community health initiatives and One Health-focused programs.

Combined with bilingual Spanish-language proficiency to support effective communication and culturally responsive outreach. Key Responsibilities 40%
