Job Description
About Us Golden Care Animal Hospital is a newly opened, privately owned small animal general practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. We are building a positive team culture where every team member is valued and has opportunities to learn and grow. Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients and clients. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and treatments
- Safely restrain dogs and cats for examinations and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Assist with patient care, nursing, and monitoring under supervision
- Collect laboratory samples and perform basic laboratory tasks as directed
- Take digital radiographs (training provided if needed)
- Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized patients
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Stock medical supplies and maintain hospital cleanliness
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with clients and team members Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital preferred (2+ year preferred)
- Passion for animal care and client service
- Ability to safely handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Experience with veterinary software (PIMS) is a plus
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Chinese is a plus Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday-Friday
- No weekends Compensation & Benefits
- $20-$23 per hour , depending on experience
- Paid holidays (eligible employees)
