Experience and flexible schedule preferred. The atmosphere we would like to preserve is friendly, energetic, and client/patient oriented. Bilingual (especially Spanish) candidates preferred but not required. Majority of our current staff have been with us for over 3 years. All staff are also cross trained as reception/assistants. Salary will depend on the level of clinical/hands-on experience. Applicants must apply in person with resume and test administered at that time (required prior to interview). No boarding/grooming/overnight care. General practice, cats and dogs only. Shift would require working Saturdays. Currently paper records but will be changing to electronic records.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with animal restraint, medication administration, and aseptic techniques. Handle dogs and cats confidently. Perform laboratory work (collecting samples, preparing specimens, and maintaining accurate records of tests performed). Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and processing payments to ensure a seamless client experience. Administer medications as prescribed, monitor post-procedure recovery, and document all treatments accurately in medical records. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by sanitizing equipment, sterilizing surgical tools, and adhering to strict aseptic protocols. Performing hospital cleaning/sanitation Assist other staff with taking x-rays
Requirements:
Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience with pet care or animal physiology is a plus. Proven veterinary technician or assistant experience in a clinical setting; familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential. Strong animal restraint skills. Experience with laboratory procedures (blood draws +/- experience placing IV catheters) Excellent communication skills for front desk interactions and client education. A proactive team player committed to providing compassionate pet care in a fast-paced environment.
