Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Experienced Veterinary Receptionist & Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with hands-on animal care, ensuring a smooth and compassionate experience for our clients and their pets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary administrative support, animal handling, and clinical procedures, contributing to the overall excellence of our veterinary services. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with professionalism and efficiency Handle medical collections accurately, ensuring proper billing and payment processing in compliance with veterinary and financial protocols Assist with animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining kennel areas to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for animals Support veterinary critical care procedures by preparing animals for surgery, administering medications, and assisting with animal restraint during examinations or treatments Perform laboratory work such as sample collection, processing tests, and maintaining accurate records using veterinary software Execute aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and animal catheterization to prevent infections and ensure safety standards are met Maintain knowledge of veterinary terminology, USDA regulations, DEA regulations, and other compliance standards relevant to veterinary practice Qualifications Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or assistant in a busy clinic setting with knowledge of veterinary clinic operations Strong animal handling skills including dog handling, animal restraint, and general pet care Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures, laboratory techniques, and companion animal medicine Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and veterinary software systems for record keeping and communication Knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary critical care practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet health issues using clear veterinary terminology Experience with kennel management, animal catheterization, laboratory testing, and surgical support preferred Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally Join us in delivering compassionate care while advancing your career in a supportive environment that values your expertise!
