As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced emergency veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians providing compassionate, high-quality care for critically ill and injured patients. Located in Grand Terrace, our experienced emergency team is dedicated to providing exceptional after-hours care, with exciting plans to expand to 24/7 emergency services. Join a collaborative hospital where teamwork, mentorship, and compassionate medicine come together to deliver outstanding care for pets and their families. In Your Day-to-Day, You Will Assist veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with emergency procedures and patient care. Perform venipuncture, place intravenous (IV) catheters, and administer medications and treatments as directed. Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery. Support triage, diagnostics, and emergency treatment protocols. Assist with laboratory sample collection and diagnostic procedures. Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in condition. Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation. Ensure treatment areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked. Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams. Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture. What You Bring Minimum of two years of emergency veterinary experience required. Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and surgical assistance. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment. Passion for emergency medicine and providing exceptional patient care. Reliable, motivated, and compassionate with a strong work ethic. A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
