Our hospital is busy and provides a broad range of small-animal medical, surgical, and dental care, but we value an organized, respectful work environment where patient care and good communication come first. What You'll Do Depending on your experience and skill level, responsibilities may include: Assisting the veterinarian with appointments, treatments, procedures, and patient care Safe and compassionate animal handling and restraint Venipuncture and blood collection IV catheter placement Medication administration and drug calculations Digital radiography and proper patient positioning In-house laboratory testing and sample preparation Preparing and assisting patients for surgery Anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery Dental cleanings and dental radiographs Nail trims, anal gland expressions, and medical grooming Maintaining accurate medical records and communicating effectively with the doctor and other team members Helping maintain a clean, organized, well-functioning hospital Who We We're Looking For We would especially like to meet someone who: Has 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience preferred Has strong technical skills appropriate to their experience level Is reliable and takes responsibility for their work Remains calm and professional when the hospital gets busy Has good judgment and knows when to ask questions Communicates respectfully with clients, the veterinarian, and coworkers Is compassionate and confident when handling dogs and cats Pays attention to details and follows through on responsibilities Enjoys being part of a small, close-knit professional team Is looking for a stable position and would like to grow with a practice long-term RVT licensure is welcomed but is not required for experienced veterinary assistants. Schedule Our hospital is open Monday through Friday and closed on weekends. No weekend shifts. Compensation $19.00-$32.00 per hour, based on veterinary experience, technical ability, and qualifications. Experienced Veterinary Assistants and RVTs with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply.
