In this role, you will assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, treatments, and daily hospital operations while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about animal health and eager to grow within a fast-paced veterinary practice.
Daily Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with small animal care and treatments Educate clients on pet wellness and care Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats during examinations and treatments Prepare examination rooms and treatment areas for patient care Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition to the medical team Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians Collect and prepare laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal specimens Assist with laboratory procedures and accurately record results Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment Feed, walk, and provide basic care for hospitalized animals Educate pet owners on basic pet care, medication administration, and follow-up instructions Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient information is properly documented Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining equipment Answer phones, make appointments and charge out clients.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures Knowledge in Reception duties and Cash drawer balancing. Strong understanding of preventive care and digital radiography Experience handling dogs and cats in a clinical environment Familiarity with laboratory procedures, sample collection, and patient monitoring Experience with catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and critical care procedures is highly desirable Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medical instructions accurately Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Compassion for animals and commitment to providing outstanding patient care Ability to lift and restrain animals safely when necessary Nice to
Have Skills:
Experience with Avimark software Understanding of small animal care and dog behavior Passion for animal welfare
