We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our amazing team of dedicated professionals. You'll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. We'll rely on you to assist the Veterinarians and RVTs in examinations, medical procedures, and operations. No experience, but think you could do great in this position? If you're organized, quick on your feet, and have the stomach to help with medical procedures, we'd like to meet you. We will train the right candidate. No weekends required. Responsibilities Intake animals for appointments and/or surgeries Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations Soothe upset or frightened animals Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians Administer vaccinations, draw blood, perform common grooming duties Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Vet Help in cases of emergencies Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments or calling clients Keep accurate records and logs Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for and explain common procedures, as needed Skills Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals is a plus Excellent communication skills Patient, caring personality with a good sense of humor Ability to follow instructions properly Comfortable being around dogs and cats of all sizes and demeanors Ability to meet the physical demands of the job Comfortable with technology High school diploma Four Paws Animal Clinic is an equal opportunity employer.
