Key responsibilities include:
Assisting the veterinarian with wellness appointments, urgent care cases, treatments, and procedures Providing safe and compassionate patient restraint and handling Assisting with venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, and laboratory procedures based on experience and training Preparing and running in-house laboratory samples Assisting with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures Preparing patients and equipment for procedures and dentistry Assisting with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery based on training and demonstrated competency Preparing medications and prescriptions as permitted and directed Providing client education and reinforcing veterinarian recommendations Maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and patient-care areas Supporting efficient patient flow throughout the department Qualifications Previous veterinary assistant experience required Experience in general practice, urgent care Strong patient handling and restraint skills Familiarity with veterinary terminology, medications, laboratory procedures, and basic patient care Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, dentistry, and anesthesia monitoring is highly desirable Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a busy clinical environment Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent patient and client care Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support our team members and encourage long-term professional growth.
