Are you an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) looking for a great team to work with temporarily ? If so, we'd love to meet you! We are a privately owned, AAHA-accredited, full-service small animal hospital that has proudly served the greater Sacramento community since the early 1970s. Our hospital is home to four amazing veterinarians and a friendly, caring, dedicated, and talented support team. We work hard, support one another, and believe there should still be room to laugh and have fun along the way. Unfortunately, we are in need of some temporary help to support our doctors and clients. Position Type This is a full-time, temporary (FT temp) position . What You'll Do As part of our medical team, you'll play an important role in providing excellent care to our patients and service to their families.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting our veterinarians in exam rooms and the treatment area Providing preventative, medical, and nursing care for sick and injured patients Performing venipuncture and collecting diagnostic samples Taking diagnostic radiographs Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgical and dental procedures Using our in-house laboratory equipment to obtain fast, accurate diagnostic results Assisting with ultrasound procedures and other diagnostic services Presenting treatment plans and estimates to clients Explaining medications, discharge instructions, and home-care recommendations Educating clients and helping them feel confident about their pet's care Providing compassionate, hands-on nursing care to our patients What We're Looking For At this time, we are looking for an experienced applicant who can hit the ground running and already has a solid foundation in veterinary medicine. Someone that is looking for a temporary position for two months. Our ideal candidate is confident in: Patient restraint and handling Venipuncture and sample collection Anesthetic monitoring Diagnostic radiographs General patient and nursing care Client communication and education Working efficiently as part of a busy medical team Experience with AVImark electronic medical records is preferred , but most importantly, we're looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, eager to contribute, and enjoys being part of a team. Compensation Compensation is based on experience, skill level, and qualifications , with consideration given to the depth of your veterinary knowledge and the skills you bring to the position.
